Presenting a perfect PowerPoint presentation is not all that lies in making a perfect presentation. The actual effectiveness of a
PowerPoint presentation depends on the ability of the speaker to communicate and involve the audience in the presentation.

Use PowerPoint to make a great presentation:

PowerPoint is a great means of bringing life to any presentation that you have to make. This is because in addition to your presentation, you have a visual dimension that is added to the presentation. However, the important thing to remember when making a PowerPoint presentation is that you have to know your speech well as the PowerPoint presentation is only meant to keep make your presentation more interesting.

The main thing needed for PowerPoint presentations are slides and these have to be created keeping good design principle in mind. Use contrasting colors and large fonts as this grasps the attention of the audience. There is no use in using PowerPoint as a teleprompter where you just read out whatever is on the slides to the audience. This annoys the audience.

Make it a point to collaborate the matter you are speaking, with the PowerPoint presentation. The best means of establishing this would be by practicing in front of a friend or colleague. The more you practice; the better will be your prowess as a good speaker. However, if you find that you can’t run the computer and give a presentation at the same time, you can always entrust the responsibility of controlling the computer to someone else.

It is important to check the equipment you intend to use for your presentation before the actual presentation. This is because you can never know when it gives trouble to itself, and your presentation. It even proves to be a great idea for you to visit the presentation venue prior to the presentation to make sure that all the equipment is in working order. And another alternative is to use your own equipment so that you are comfortable with the working of the computer, and you will be aware of the working condition of the equipment.

With a PowerPoint presentation, you are provided with visual aids which you can use during your speech. With the help of these visuals, the audience tends to understand your topic and matter better, and faster. When you use visuals for the PowerPoint presentation, it can be anything like graphics, pictures and bar charts which are very useful in enhancing the meaning and the value of your presentation.

Don’t get carried away while creating your PowerPoint slides; keep it as simple as possible with not much of matter on it. Remember, you are giving a presentation to the audience and not showing off your speaker notes! Don’t place all your matter on the slides; the slides are meant to guide you through the presentation and should have only the main points of the PowerPoint presentation.

So it can be seen that PowerPoint is not actually any magical software that will make you a great speaker overnight. PowerPoint is basically a tool that helps you in your presentation; it is all up to you to use your best speech techniques and command of the language to deliver your speech. The PowerPoint is there just to help you along!
