Publishing PowerPoint Presentation

You can create a PowerPoint presentation and provide world wide access to your presentation by publishing it on the Internet. Publishing is the process of creating a copy of your presentation on another computer on the network or on a Web server, so that anyone on that network may view the presentation. You can publish a presentation and achieve different objectives:

  • Publish several copies of the same PowerPoint presentation to several different Web servers.
  • Publish a PowerPoint presentation to create a separate copy on the Web that can be modified and updated without affecting the original presentation.
  • Publish only a part of your presentation to be available to all on the Web. For example, you can publish only 5 out of 10 slides in a presentation.
  • Publish the presentation in customized way to be browser compatible. For example one copy of your presentation can be best suited to be viewed in Microsoft Internet Explorer and another copy can be best suited to be viewed in Netscape Navigator.
  • Publish a customized version of the presentation where certain elements, such as animations or clip art objects or sound media clips appear only in the Web version of your presentation.

Certain elements automatically appear when you publish a PowerPoint presentation to the Web. These elements are:

  • Navigation frame that outlines the PowerPoint presentation
  • Control for displaying and hiding the outline of the presentation
  • Control for displaying and hiding the Notes pane
  • Frame for displaying the slides
  • Control for displaying a full-screen slide show and hiding the rest of the browser control options

You can view how your published PowerPoint presentation looks like before actually publishing it. To preview a presentation Web page:
