Tips
for a successful and powerful PowerPoint presentation:
A PowerPoint presentation is a great tool for enhancing the effect
of any presentation. it is possible to make a great presentation with
a few changes and implementations in the presentation. When making a
presentation, you have to choose a font of point 40 – 44 sizes
for the heading and a font of 20 – 36 for the body text. With
this choice, the audience can see the slides better, and understand
it better. When using bullets in the slide, the bullet should have only
6-8 items. |

| If
there is a need for more bullets, it is better to split the bullets into
two slides for better order and discipline. You can create a better presentation with the help of animations; but too much of animations may have a negative effect on your presentation. This is because people may get directed to the animations and not pay too much attention to your presentation. When choosing fonts for your PowerPoint presentation, make sure to choose it wisely. It has to be easy to read and match the subject of your presentation. It is better to use sans serif fonts like Arial, Tahoma and Verdant as these fonts are easy to read. It is not that advised to use serif fonts like Times New Roman as they don’t foster screen legibility and thus is difficult to read on a computer monitor or projector screen. The colors for the PowerPoint presentation should help in adding credibility and legibility to your presentation. The colors should suit your subject matter and it is always better to avoid bright colors like reds and greens. Instead, blacks, grays and yellows are a better choice. When making financial presentations, dark blue, gray and white are great colors; but these colors don’t match a presentation for a national forest chain. Choose high-contrast colors for the PowerPoint presentation as this helps in the reading of text of the slide. You don’t lose slide text into the background with high-contrasting colors. Though white backgrounds are ideal for printing, they tend to be irritable when used in a PowerPoint presentation. It is always better to use light text on a dark background for a PowerPoint presentation. This is because this gives a better effect on the eye. Limit the number of colors used in the PowerPoint presentation as multi colors match a birthday party, and not a business PowerPoint presentation. Make it a point to follow a corporate color scheme where there is a maximum of 4-5 colors. You can use the colors of your corporate logo while adding one or two complimentary colors if you don’t have any corporate identity. Don’t plot too long a PowerPoint presentation as people won’t be able to sit through it. Give an outline view of the presentation by using it only as an outline for your presentation. Concentrate more on text and less on graphics, charts, transitions and animations. With all these tips, you are sure to find that you can and will make a winning PowerPoint presentation for your next presentation. |
